Despite the past decade has seen growing interest and investment in transdisciplinary education, academic education remains predominantly dependent upon narrow, discipline-focused undergraduate and graduate programs. Following list of institutions are either developing transdisciplinary programs or integrating transdisciplinary courses in their curriculum.

 

Texas Tech University--College of Engineering

Almost a decade ago the Texas Tech University College of Engineering had the vision to develop the first transdisciplinary master of engineering program, and was developed for defense industry employees. To date, more than 100 Master students have completed the program. Also in 2006, Transdisciplinary Design, Process, and Systems Track as a part of the Mechanical Engineering PhD degree was created. This program exposes students to a wide range of topics and will emphasize collaborative, cross–discipline team based research efforts.  Currently, this program has seventeen Ph.D. students.
